If Thomas Jefferson and George Washington were alive today, they would be cleaning their rifles and telling Paul Revere to “Saddle-up”.

The infamous XL pipeline, which is undoubtedly a political issue, is again in the news. The Federal Government is looking for other routes, the news accounts claim. The Federal Government? Since when did the Federal Government become the omnipotent ruler of the pipeline industry? Answer: Since WE, the people, allowed them to become so. What part of the constitution says that the states cannot simply decide to construct the pipeline? Answer: no part. Pipelines are presently under the jurisdiction of the DOT, which can be considered as running afoul of the tenth amendment. The Obama Administration, with the aid of aspiring politicians in the states involved, have successfully blocked a project that could provide oil and jobs for many, many people of our states. The pipeline company states they have found an alternate route that is sure to be approved, but the Obama Administration has announced that they will not make a decision until late 2012, after the election. Why must it wait until after the election? It is because Obama does not want to lose votes of those on either side of this issue and naturally, if and when Obama is re-elected, the project will never be approved. Instead, the oil will be piped and shipped to other countries, such as China. After all, the owners are not going to just give up because the US doesn’t want the oil.

I don’t want our people cleaning their rifles; they don’t need to. What everyone needs to do is create a roar; not just in Texas, but in every state of the Union. Roar against being political pawns, roar against the excessive tyranny and roar for our freedom from this tyranny. Most Texans get this and know that we need to declare our independence to survive, but we aren’t selfish. We want our neighbors to be free as well and by leading the way, as we always have, we will be a beacon to those who are still in the dark.
