Independence Italiano!

Self-determination "fever" is breaking out across the globe. However, it has been alive in Italy for years.

Lega Nord (Northern League) has been on the forefront of independence for northern Italy and even though it has ebbed and flowed over time it seems that the people of the north want it more now than ever.

In a recent appearance Lega Nord leader Umberto Bossi laid out that secession is the way to go. However, he qualified it by letting those in attendance know that all forms of secession are not equal.

This has been a contention of the Texas Nationalist Movement as well. Independence must be done in the right way or it becomes meaningless.

Lega Nord leader Bossi said "secession is the best medicine", but it requires the right deals. "Secession is the best medicine, but the right deals are needed: you can't just do it", Umberto Bossi told Lega Nord supporters in Magenta, who were shouting 'Secession, secession', like last Sunday in Pontida. "Unless things are straightened out in the country, the north will go its own way", Bossi told reporters at the end of his speech.

Keep your eyes on Italy. The Italian economic crisis is likely to turn Lega Nord into an unstoppable juggernaut.
